Instagram Data Deletion

knit.bio's Instagram Suite connects to your Instagram professional account through Meta's Instagram API to power DM automations, comment moderation, and content scheduling. This page explains what that connection stores and how to have it permanently deleted.

What we store

  • Your Instagram-scoped account ID, username, and an encrypted access token
  • Automations you build (keywords, DM funnels, comment replies) and their trigger counts
  • Contacts your automations capture (Instagram-scoped user ID, plus any username, email, or phone shared with you)
  • Queued and sent DMs, comment replies, and moderation actions taken by the automations you configured
  • Moderation rules and allowlist entries you create, and how often they've matched
  • For a comment your rules acted on: its text, the commenter's Instagram-scoped ID and username, and which rule matched — kept as an activity log so you can review or reverse the action

How to delete your data

1. Delete it yourself in the dashboard

Sign in and go to Settings → Integrations (or IG Suite → Settings). Alongside Disconnect you'll find Delete all data, which permanently erases the connected account and everything tied to it. It can't be undone.

2. Remove the app from Instagram

In Instagram, go to Settings → Apps and websites and remove knit.bio. Meta notifies us automatically, and we delete the Instagram data we hold for your account and send back a confirmation link — the same status page you may have arrived here from.

3. Email us

Email support@knit.bio from your account email (or tell us your Instagram username) and ask us to delete your Instagram data. We verify the request and delete it within 30 days, then confirm by email.

Removing knit.bio from Instagram revokes our access token immediately. For how we handle all personal data — including the Instagram data described here — see our full Privacy Policy.
